Eric Minikel

Eric is a former transportation engineer now earning his PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard Medical School. He is based in Stuart Schreiber's lab at the Broad Institute alongside his wife, Sonia Vallabh, who learned in 2011 that she had inherited a fatal genetic mutation in the prion protein gene from her late mother. The couple's goal is to develop a way to prevent the onset of prion disease.
